Biography

Dr. Shona A. Mookerjee is a professor at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California. Dr. Mookerjee completed her Ph.D in Molecular Genetics from the University of Rochester and her postdoctoral work at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, studying mitochondrial genetics and bioenergetics. Her current faculty position includes a teaching focus in pharmacology across areas including antimicrobials, endocrine therapies, and cancer chemotherapy. Her research program focuses on cellular energy production and metabolism, including the mitochondrial, metabolic, and bioenergetic behavior of cancer cells. Part of this research focus includes development and validation of new methods.
