Accreditation

At Touro University California we take seriously our obligation to providing sound, thorough, supportive and fully-accredited programs for our students.

Accreditation means our programs have been fully evaluated – measured against recognized standards in excellence – by official assessment bodies.

Being fully accredited shows we adhere to goals and standards vital to a quality education. Our accreditation also allows you to receive federal and state financial aid.

Touro University California Accreditation

Touro University California is fully accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). The next accreditation review is scheduled for Fall 2025.

College of Medicine Accreditation (TUCOM)

The American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the accreditor of colleges of osteopathic medicine. COCA accreditation signifies that a college has met or exceeded the Commission's standards for educational quality.

The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) first awarded full accreditation status to the College of Osteopathic Medicine in April, 2001.

In the Spring of 2004, the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the AOA approved the development of a branch campus of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, Nevada.

In June 2004, the Commission included Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine Nevada within the scope of TUCOM’s accreditation.

In February 2005 regional accreditation was transferred from the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools to the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

In September 2008, the Commission reaffirmed the accreditation of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, California and Nevada campuses.

In April 2015 TUCOM received seven-year COCA accreditation for both TUN and TUC campus. We were noted for our many strengths and received a commendation for TUCOM’s strong research programs.

On May 7, 2022 TUCOM finalized its most recent comprehensive accreditation, with COCA awarding TUCOM 10-year accreditation status of Accreditation with Exceptional Outcome. This places TUCOM in the top 25% of all Osteopathic Medical Schools with such distinction.
