The Social Justice in Public Health Seminar (Webinar) Series is an innovative collection of lectures from experts in the field of public policy, public health, and social justice, designed for students in public health, medicine, education, pharmacy and nursing degree programs. The purpose of this seminar series is to provide an introduction to topics in social justice and public health.

2024 Lecture Series

Commercial and Economic Drivers of Health and Justice

Our 2024 theme, "Commercial and Economic Drivers of Health and Justice, "will identify industries influencing health and justice, including tobacco, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, and oil and gas. We will also explore innovative strategies to address and mitigate these industries' harmful public health impacts.

Sessions

This year will feature a mix of virtual and in-person talks. Please note that topics may be rescheduled to different dates. Each session is scheduled to take place from 5 pm to 7 pm PST.

Each session is worth 2 continuing education credits through the National Board of Public Health Examiners.

Touro University California (TUC) is an approved provider of Certified in Public Health (CPH) Recertification credits by the National Board of Public Health Examiners. Effective July, 1 2017, the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE) accepts continuing education units (CEU) for CPH recertification credits from TUC. Life-long Learners seeking credit for CPH recertification should use the guidelines provided by the NBPHE for calculating recertification credits.
