Biography

My name is Dr. Laura Baumgartner and I am an Associate Professor in the Clinical Sciences Department at Touro University California College of Pharmacy (TU-COP). I received my PharmD from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, and underwent two years of residency training. I did my PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at the University of Colorado Hospital, and stayed on for a PGY2 in Critical Care. My clinical practice site is at Highland Hospital in the Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care unit, where I precept APPE students and pharmacy residents. My research interests include management of bleeding following major trauma, pain, sedation, and delirium in the ICU, and preceptor burnout. Outside of pharmacy, I love spending time in Tahoe skiing in the winter and backpacking in the summer, traveling, and craft beer!
