Biography
I am a classically trained anatomist with experience teaching anatomy, embryology, and neuroanatomy. I attended the University of California, Davis as an undergraduate student where I received my B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior and minored in Music. It was there that I developed a passion for anatomy and anatomical education. I then went on to obtain my M.S. in Applied Anatomy at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. There, I researched the possible implementation of virtual anatomy cadaver programs in a physician assistant student curriculum. I received my Ph.D. in Anatomy at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. My doctoral dissertation research focused on the impact of electroencephalographic measures of sleep on electrocardiographic measures of cardiac autonomic modulation during adolescence and in the transition from childhood to adolescence.
Before coming to Touro, I taught anatomy, embryology, and neuroanatomy across multiple modalities to multiple student and professional populations, including undergraduate students, graduate students, medical students, physician assistant students, and medical residents. I have always been devoted to developing relationships across different groups; as someone who grew up in Northern California, I am excited to serve Touro and the Bay Area in this manner. Outside the classroom, I am a musician who primarily plays jazz and New Age piano and an obstacle course racer.
