Christina Kinnevey, MD

Assistant Professor, College of Osteopathic Medicine

Biography

I am an allopathic trained, family medicine doctor. As a child, I always wanted to be a teacher, before getting called to medicine. So needless to say, I'm pretty excited that I get to do both now - teach and practice medicine. I had some amazing mentors and teachers on my journey and I hope I can return the favor now as an assistant professor at Touro. I love family medicine - getting to see newborn babies up to geriatric age patients. I'm definitely never bored! I work at the Solano county clinic half time and enjoy the opportunity to work with underserved patients. When I saw the increasing problems associated with the opioid epidemic, I pursued additional training to help patients suffering from substance use disorder and I'm now boarded in addiction medicine too. I work part time at MedMark Treatment Centers, a methadone clinic in our area and helped initiate expansion of buprenorphine medication assisted treatment there. I am co-chair of the Drug Safe Solano opioid coalition and thoroughly enjoy the advocacy work I get to do through in our community to combat the epidemic and rebuild lives. I am also medical director of Archway Recovery Centers, helping expand access to medication services within the residential treatment program. I am honored to serve on the Napa Solano Medical Society Board of Directors as a representative of Drug Safe Solano and Touro University. I enjoy medical missionary work abroad and have precepted students in Honduras, Haiti, Uganda and Guatemala.
