Biography
Dr. Ononuju holds a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Language, Literacy, and Culture. A 2010- 2011 McNair cohort scholar, Dr. Ononuju has a devotion to youth, families, and community. Born and raised in Vallejo, California, Dr. Ononuju continues to positively impact and inform the educational experiences of young people through his research and service. Dr. Ononuju is the Chair of the Equity, Diversity & Inclusive Education Program in the Graduate School of Education at Touro University, California. Dr. Ononuju is also co-founder of BlackademX, a weekly podcast engaging educators nationwide in critical dialog about academic success for African-American scholars.
