Institutional Biosafety Committee

The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) of Touro University California is dedicated to ensuring that our research is conducted as safely as possible. The IBC is the primary oversight unit that monitors all research involving recombinant DNA, synthetic nucleic acids, and infectious agents.

Our IBC is tasked with reviewing each laboratory's research protocols, assessing the scientific risk of this research, creating guidelines, best research practices, and enforcing policies to prevent any potentially harmful materials from being released into the local environment and community.

Our IBC is registered with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and follows their guidance accordingly.
