Touro University California’s College of Pharmacy (TUCCOP) has a dynamic history of transformative education and engagement with the community. From dedicated students working in the Student-Run Free Clinic to faculty members practicing at Federally Qualified Health Centers, our impact is far-reaching and profound. At TUCCOP, we live our mission: to serve communities of need and train professionals who lead with purpose.
The Challenge
Healthcare stands at a crossroads. Primary Care is the critical entry point of the health system and is in crisis. The gap between Primary Care needs and Primary Care practitioners is growing.
Pharmacists are essential to closing the gap. TUCCOP is training pharmacists to be frontline providers of vaccinations, emergency interventions like naloxone, and public health services such as smoking cessation, weight loss management, and medication therapy management. Pharmacists also work with physicians on various patient services, which is vitally important given the acute shortages of Primary Care physicians.
Our faculty and students are developing new medicines, launching mobile and telehealth services, and designing treatment protocols for everything from chronic diseases to mental health. They publish, present, and pioneer solutions - but they need your support to bring these breakthroughs to life.
