Touro University California (TUC) celebrates its new designation as a Research College and University in the 2025 Carnegie Classifications. This national recognition, issued by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the American Council on Education (ACE), places TUC among a select group of institutions recognized for significant research output and academic contribution.

Dr. Tami Hendriksz, Provost & Chief Academic Officer at TUC had only positive praise in light of this news. “Touro University California’s designation as a Research College and University in the 2025 Carnegie Classifications reflects the strength of our growing research enterprise and our deep commitment to advancing knowledge that improves the health and well-being of our communities.”  

Dr. Hendriksz continued, “This recognition affirms the impactful work of our faculty, students, and partners, and positions us to further expand innovation, collaboration, and discovery in service of our mission.” 

This national recognition highlights TUC’s growing research portfolio based on the meaningful contributions of our faculty and students to advancing knowledge in health sciences, public health, education, and related fields. Faculty and student researchers at TUC are engaged in innovative work that addresses pressing health and community challenges, strengthens clinical practice, and improves population health. 

This recognition is valid through 2028, marking a three-year period where TUC will be highlighted for its significant and growing research contributions.
