Dr. Tami Hendriksz has been named Physician of the Year by the Napa Solano Medical Society. While her extensive title of Campus Provost, Chief Academic Officer, and Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University California (TUC) reflects institutional leadership, this honor celebrates her active, hands-on commitment to local healthcare as a practicing pediatrician in Solano County’s community clinics and health programs.

Dr. Hendriksz’s connection to TUC is deep-rooted; she graduated with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree before completing her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Returning to her alma mater, she has continuously bridged the gap between academic strategy and regional public health.

Nationally, she guides the next generation of doctors into residency on the AACOM Board of Deans and the UME-to-GME Transitions Task Force. Locally, she has led frontline initiatives like Project H.A.P.P.Y. and the Touro CARES mobile vaccine program, bringing healthcare directly to local families.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to receive this recognition from the Napa-Solano Medical Society. Medicine has never been a solo endeavor, and I have been fortunate throughout my career to learn from remarkable mentors, work alongside dedicated colleagues, and be inspired every day by my students, colleagues, and patients,” said Dr. Hendriksz.

She continues, “This recognition reminds me how grateful I am to be part of a profession that allows us to make a difference in people's lives during their most vulnerable moments. I am deeply thankful for this honor and remain committed to giving back to the profession and communities that have given so much to me."

This latest honor joins a long list of accolades celebrating her humanistic approach to medicine from organizations like the Gold Foundation and the American Osteopathic Foundation.

“Dr. Hendriksz’ dedication to improving the health of our community and training the next generation of physicians made her the perfect candidate for Physician of the Year,” said Christina Kinnevey Greig, M.D., President of the Napa Solano Medical Society (NSMS). “NSMS is proud to celebrate her accomplishments and support physicians committed to patient care.”

Congratulations to Dr. Tami Hendriksz for this accolade as she continues to represent the values and mission of Touro University California in our local communities and across the country.
