Mitchell Barnett, PharmD, MS

Associate Professor, College of Pharmacy

Biography

I am an associate professor of pharmacy practice and the associate director of the Iowa prescription monitoring program (PMP). I have been involved in health services research for more than twenty years, including working at the Iowa City, IA VAMC Center of Excellence and the Iowa Board of Pharmacy. I was also one of the original faculty members at the College of Pharmacy—beginning my tenure at Touro in 2005. My specialty area is working with claims data or large administrative datasets (outcomes or population-based research), along with an interest in some survey and pedagogical research. I have a particular interest in utilizing prescription drug claims data for severity or risk adjustment modeling. I enjoy mentoring junior faculty and residents on research methods and have been fortunate to have been able to work with many exceptional Touro students, residents, fellows and faculty over the years.
