Biography

It is my honor to serve as Ed Leadership Program Chair for Touro University, California. From my experience in the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential student, to becoming a K12 Administrator, active alumni, and present day adjunct faculty member, I am so impressed with our TUC Graduate School of Education. My educational journey began as a first generation college student and full track & field scholarship athlete at CSU, Sacramento. Earning a Bachelor’s Degree, later Master’s Degree and Secondary Teaching Credential from the University of Phoenix, I jumped head first into the pool of education. Early on in my career, I taught at the secondary level and wore many hats in K-12 education. From Department Chair, Club Advisor, Head Coach, to TOSA-Teacher on Special Assignment, private school consultant, and WASC Coordinator, I was heavily involved in various communities of practice. Having worked in six districts and in a private school, my passion for celebrating diversity and closing the achievement gap became my mission. A strong desire to better understand the K -12 educational system and the development of strong school environments grew inside of my core and became a part of my purpose. After earning an Admininistrative Credential and second Master’s Degree from Touro University, I served as an Assistant Principal and Principal in both private and public schools where I first began mentoring aspiring leaders. Currently, I serve as an Elementary Principal in Vacaville, California and previously as Principal of a large K-8 Title I school in Fairfield. I am committed to creating equitable leaders through Cognitive and Breakthrough Coaching and a focus on equity and diversity. In 2018, I was named ACSA’s Principal of the Year and began to pursue opportunities in higher education. I am an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, a community service based organization that provides an extensive array of public service initiatives. However, the title I am most proud of is, mother to my two sons and wife to my loving and supportive. To future PASC Candidates, I look forward to accompanying you on your leadership journey.Go Bulls!
