Michael Warner, DO, CPC, CPCO, CPMA, AAPC Fellow is an associate professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Touro University California and co-coordinator of the first year medical student Osteopathic Principles course.
Dr. Warner has undergraduate degrees in Biology and Philosophy from Villanova University and is a graduate of Des Moines University – College of Osteopathic Medicine, Iowa. While attending Des Moines, he served a one-year undergraduate OMM teaching fellowship.
Dr. Warner completed his AOA rotating internship and family medicine residency at Atlantic City Medical Center, New Jersey and practiced as a rural family doctor for over 20 years in Ebensburg/Johnstown, PA. Most of those years were in private practice with his wife, Margaret Warner, DO.
Dr. Warner is board certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine by AOBNMM and family medicine by ACOFP. He is also a certified professional coder, compliance officer and medical officer by AAPC. He serves the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) as an alternate advisor on AMA RUC and a member of the Bureau for Socioeconomic Affairs. He serves ACOFP as a member of the Public Health and Wellness Committee. He serves the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) as a national advisory board member (2018-2021) and representative for Region 8 West.
Dr. Warner completed an AACOM Health Policy Fellowship 2016-2017 and is actively involved in improving the patient-provider relationship. He designed, conducted and published clinical research “Use of Patient-Authored Prehistory to Improve Patient Experiences and Accommodate Federal Law” (JAOA 2017) and is actively studying ways to improve patient data gathering, reduce provider administrative burden and empower patients to be better heard and understood.
