The Touro University Joint MSPAS/MPH Program participates in the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA). All candidates must submit a primary application for admission through CASPA at https://portal.caspaonline.org. The program is listed as Touro University - California Joint MSPAS/MPH Program.
The CASPA Admissions Portal opens April 14, 2010 for the 2010-2011 Admissions Cycle. The deadline to submit the CASPA application for the 2010-2011 cycle (fall 2011 start) is November 1, 2010. No exceptions will be made to this deadline.
The program is committed to increasing the number of graduates that are from and who will work and live in socioeconomically and medically underserved areas, particularly in California and seeks applicants who are committed to the Program’s mission.
Admission to the Joint MSPAS/MPH Program is highly competitive. For the fall 2010 incoming class, the program received over 1,100 applications for 45 spots. Highly qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible.
Applicants to the Program should be aware that all courses within the curriculum are required for completion of the program, no transfer credit is accepted, and no credit is granted for pre-admission experiential learning. Only full-time students are admitted to the program.
English as a Second Language – All non-native speakers of English are required to submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 215 (Internet-based).
Health Requirements and Technical Standards
All accepted candidates are required to meet the Program’s Technical Standards (physical and psychological competencies of performance) http://www.tu.edu/departments.php?id=50&page=604 prior to entering the Program and throughout training. Upon acceptance, students will be required to submit and maintain evidence of current health status and immunizations. Students are also required to maintain University-approved health care insurance coverage while enrolled in the Program. The University does offer a health plan.
