Meet Golnoush Golshan

Golnoush Golshan - COPGolnoush Golshan, a vivacious and engaging Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate at Touro, 2018,

realized her passion for pharmacy while working in a research laboratory, where she spent significant time with various drugs that inhibited or activated specific molecular pathways.

“This sparked my interest in medicine and how they can be used to treat specific disease states in patients,” she admitted. “At the same time, I wanted a career that allowed me to work closely with patients and this is what led me into pharmacy.”

Golshan, who is also the Student Government Association President for the 2015-16 year, has a few feathers under her cap. She is Ex-Officio for the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is Ambassador for the CSHP/ASHP Touro Chapter. She took some time from her busy schedule to let us know about her experience at Touro, accomplishments, and the legacy she wishes to leave behind.

1.  Tell me about your background – where were you born? Where are you from?

I was born in Iran and raised in Saratoga, California.

2.  Tell me about some of your accomplishments in life. How about at Touro?

One of my biggest accomplishments is getting my master’s degree and publishing my research. My biggest accomplishment at Touro is being SGA president and being able to work closely with the student body and faculty on projects.

3.  What do you want your legacy to be?

Establishing more Interprofessionalism events at Touro University.

4.  What do you do in your spare time?

I’m always in San Francisco checking out new restaurants, hiking, or going to sports events.

5.  What has been the best thing you’ve experienced at Touro?

I’ve met some of the most amazing and aspiring students from all over the country here at Touro. I look forward to having life time friendships with the students I’ve met here and working with them in the future.

6.  Why Touro?

Initially I decided to attend Touro because of the 2+2 pharmacy program. Now that I’m a student and I attend conferences around the state, I realize that Touro has one of the most competitive and advanced pharmacy programs in California.

7.  What life lesson have you learned at TUC?

I’ve learned that Pharmacy is a small world and everyone knows each other. Make sure to network any chance you get and be polite to everyone.

8.  Where do you want to go from here?

I’m interested in getting my fellowship after graduating from Touro.

9.  Tell me something that few people know about you.

While traveling to Philippines, I ended up on a famous game show called WOWOWEE
