A Mosaic Celebration: Diversity Scholarship Fundraiser

 

On Wednesday, April 17, Touro University California (TUC) will hold its fourth annual Mosaic Celebration fundraiser to support diversity scholarships. The diversity scholarship recipients are students with roots to underserved communities who will go on to become healthcare, education, and public health professionals who have a lasting impact in their communities.

Attendees will have the chance to be wowed by the pop-up exhibition and live art performance by Jermaine Dante’ Burse. They will also be treated to special encore performances by Lenny Williams, Former Lead Singer of Tower of Power.

Awards will also be given to two exceptional leaders who embrace diversity and inclusion in their work and lives: CC and Regina Yin, founders of Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA) and owners of Yin McDonald’s; and Medic Ambulance Service, established in Vallejo in 1979 to provide ambulance services for those in need.

Net proceeds from the event will support TUC’s diversity student scholarships.

WHAT: A fundraiser where 27 students will be awarded with the Diversity Scholarship helping them pursue studies in healthcare and public health. The event includes live performances, both a silent and live auction, raffle prizes, a hosted bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 17, 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

WHY: Net proceeds from this event support the university’s diversity student scholarships with the goal of diversifying the healthcare and education professionals to reflect the communities they serve, ensuring lasting and equitable change that meets the needs of the community.
