WHY: Different studies have shown that non-healthcare employees actually have a higher level of awareness about environmental issues than those in healthcare organizations. Dr. Azizi seeks to change this through Green Healthcare courses that discuss a variety of environment-friendly solutions thus increasing healthcare professionals’ awareness of the importance of sustainability and instilling a sense of responsibility to reduce their waste and carbon impact.

Dr. Azizi has a Doctorate in Policy, Planning and Development from the Sol Price School of Public Policy, University of Southern California with a focus in sustainable policies and planning. She currently teaches a wide array of courses in the California State University System including courses on the environment, sustainability, and administration in healthcare.
